the couple who does this blog was on the nate show today. their blog shows their whole home and everything they’ve done to make it look amazing. and alot of it is DIY. i looove their home and hope that i can do something like this to my own first house! i think older houses have such character and really love when people make them look more modern. check it out!

exciting changes… i am officially enrolled in first steps! by the end of the week, my matrix will be up for clients to see and choose me as a provider. i can’t wait to meet all my little babies!

these pictures were taken about 5 minutes after i got my keys. my house is an older place in broadripple but it has a lot of potential. the place is completely empty. and my mom and i spent 6 hours cleaning after this point. it looks kind of depressing in these pictures but it’s coming along!

my bathroom. most difficult part? a lot of these old houses don’t have outlets in the bathroom! ahhhh. and covering the window has been tricky. i do not want creepers seeing me shower. but i think i’ve got a solution! more to come on that…

this past sunday was kif’s birthday but unfortunately i was on vacation with my parents. so on thursday i decided to make him dinner at my new place. it took me, my mom, and my grandma but we finally got the kitchen together enough for me to make a meal. the menu? michael chiarello’s his & her surf and turf, steamed veggies, and a chocolate cake i made from scratch (very delicious i might add).
this is the rug i’m thinking of getting for the living room (all hardwood floors). i want to get in green but the blue pictures give a better idea of it. thoughts?!?!
i haven’t updated in a while and since i’m home sick from the hospital i figured today would be the day. most exciting thing happening right now (aside from finishing up at Community hospital, another story) is that i will be moving into my new place soon. i am leasing a side of a house in broadripple/butler area. it is about 900 square feet and i LOVE it. i get the keys on the 15th (thursday!) so i will be before pictures up soon. like allie and coumarb i’ve been stalking decorating/furniture websites and can’t wait to start. its a two bedroom (i’ll be working from home so i need an office) with washer/dryer, screened in porch, and lawn care included. i’m sure you’ll be hearing more about my neighbor. he’s a retired veteran who’s missing part of a leg. he has a bunch of dogs and sits around the house gran torino style. i’ve been told he keeps an eye out on the street and will keep me safe. exactly the kind of weird, creepy thing i’m looking for. ;)
a little late but…
kiffer’s sister is getting married on july 31st. we had her bachelorette party in chicago in the end of june. such a blast and everyone got a little nuts. we stayed at this AMAZING hotel (the elysian) in chicago that night. 8 girls, drunk, related and in 1 room means things got a little crazy.
danielle and i just made the shrimp avacado quesadillas posted on allie’s blog. amazing! i suggest trying them asap!
